FOOT & SHOE DYNAMIC // UNDERSTANDING SPATIAL RELATIONSHIPS & FORM
[03.25.20]
After studying the human foot and learning how to construct it through lines and reference points, I began exploring how human-made shoes are used as measurements to capture the shape and form of the foot.

By studying the form of a generic foot/shoe shape at different angles, I started drawing out feet as practiced, but then building upon them in order to capture an accurate spatial representation surrounding the foot. Working from the human foot helped significantly with constructing the shoe as opposed to illustrating the shoe directly from a reference.

Once I practiced working with simple forms that encase the foot, I began exploring how different types of shoes and materials can be shown as different forms even when worn around the same structure.
